((((( — by tradition, I’m adding some music to add a sound vibe I’m in right now — )))))
I got this idea, like why not write about what brings motivation to create something. You know right now, it’s half past nine in the morning, I’m writing this article… but at the same time I didn’t sleep last night, there was inspiration to listen to music.
And once again, this click happened. Sometimes it just happens and you enter that state — flow.
Over the last weeks, I’ve had this almost every day and honestly it even scares me a bit (will it run away from me later?). There are so many reasons why I burst open — there’s emotions, there’s a new direction, and most importantly MUSIC.
Actually, I just changed the music, it’s definitely about that. But how else? Sometimes you play a song and it straight up reflects what you’re thinking. And you laugh, you’re swaying to the beat like a gust of wind and you start smiling, while those viburnum leaves keep up the pace and then you want something, like this passion to take action, or like create something.
And then logic kicks me in. Yesterday I rested well with friends, which means it’s turn for creation, time to create something completely new.
But why actually not throw myself a creative challenge every day? Why do I need this niche? Never understood it. Write only about one thing, become the best at it, lock yourself in a cage for years and suffer from creativity that should bring joy.
That’s just a genius strategy, especially if you add a couple sad love songs, pull out a tissue and cry all night. (though actually the idea works, why not?)
So here, I write in English all the time and it’s all great. But something’s missing, like something Ukrainian. Usually, I listen to music in English, but I liked so many Ukrainian songs tonight, they just clicked with me. One especially made me smile and I just couldn’t not share it. Yeah-yeah, that’s the one at the beginning of the article.
And instead of a thousand explanations about what it’s about (for those who haven’t learned Ukrainian yet, which I’m telling you is a big mistake), I’ll give you a translation so you can also enjoy the author’s genius idea.
Lyrics:
A spider named Vasyl crawls on the stairs.
A spider named Vasyl climbed on the wall.
A spider named Vasyl crawled into a corner,
Made himself a little house there.
Weaving, weaving Vasya’s web,
Vasyl needs to catch a fly,
Because in the evening Galina will come
To watch some porn.
Poor Vasyl waits in vain,
Galya’s not there, Galya won’t come today.
Poor Vasyl waits in vain,
Galya’s not there, Galya’s mom won’t let her.
A spider named Vasyl waits pointlessly,
The fly in the web is no longer fresh.
Night came, Galya still isn’t here,
And there won’t be any action later.
Vasya hisses under his nose
And mopes that nothing happened.
And Galina’s mom is urging her
She can’t go to Vasyl.
Poor Vasyl waits in vain,
Galya’s not there, Galya won’t come today.
Poor Vasyl waits in vain,
Galya’s not there, Galya’s mom won’t let her.
But the whole thing is that Vasyl isn’t real,
Just drawn by someone on the wall.
I’ve been watching him for an hour now,
Imagining how he’s waiting for Galina there.
Oh, Vasyl waits, and I’m stuck on the wall
Oh, boredom in my soul, stupidity in my head
Oh, Vasyl waits, for his Galina
Oh, what’s stupid — strange
A simple idea about a spider in this guy’s performance made something really unconventional, and I love that kind of thing. Do you?
And if you’re not sleeping and writing at 4 AM, you’re either crazy or creating something innovative and real. Sometimes both. For me, that’s exactly where the magic of creativity sees the light.
With much love,

Incredible read 👏🏼
I like that you’re not trying to cage your creativity into a single niche. Letting it move the way it wants usually leads to the most honest work. Keep following that instinct.
